Windows Server

Windows Dedicated Servers: Monthly Standard and Datacenter Licensing

Choose Windows Server 2019, 2022, or 2025.

Check licensing before choosing a version

Two editions, billed monthly

Windows Standard licensing adds $24.9/month, while Windows Datacenter licensing adds $25.8/month. The license fee is added to the bill for the selected machine and is separate from the dedicated server's monthly rental price.

Choose on two levels: select Standard or Datacenter, then choose 2019, 2022, or 2025. Before ordering, check the operating system versions supported by the business software, the intended virtualization use, and the applicable licensing requirements.

Standard may be a good starting point for a single business server. For Hyper-V hosts running multiple virtual machines or deployments that rely on Datacenter features, consider Datacenter. Usage rights are governed by the applicable license terms; an edition name does not mean that every business application is licensed.

The billing period determines how many months are covered; it does not change the monthly license price. The amount due is the monthly total, including the license, multiplied by the number of months. There are no discounts for any billing period.

Windows license overview

Standard

+$24.9/month

A starting point for deployments such as a single business application or database service.

2019 / 2022 / 2025 available

Datacenter

+$25.8/month

For scenarios such as multiple Hyper-V virtual machines; check feature needs and license terms.

2019 / 2022 / 2025 available

These are monthly Windows license add-ons. The machine, disks, bandwidth, and any extra IPv4 addresses are included separately in the monthly total based on the configuration.

System language options

  • EN
    English

For teams whose workflows rely mainly on English software interfaces and technical documentation.

  • TC
    Traditional Chinese

For teams that use a Traditional Chinese system interface.

  • SC
    Simplified Chinese

For teams that use a Simplified Chinese system interface.

Select one of the three languages when ordering; the browser language does not determine the order selection.

Choose language and edition separately

Select the system language when ordering

Windows Server is available in English, Traditional Chinese, or Simplified Chinese. The selection sets the system interface language. It does not affect the Standard or Datacenter monthly license add-on or the machine's hardware specifications.

  • The interface language determines how menus, settings, and system prompts appear. Keeping team handover documentation in the selected language can make settings easier to find and errors easier to document.
  • Regional settings control formats such as dates, numbers, and times. After setup, check that the formats and time zone meet business requirements; the interface language alone does not configure regional settings.
  • Third-party business software may have its own language packs and compatibility requirements. The operating system language does not automatically change an application's language.

Before deployment, record the license edition, Windows Server year, and system language. Do not rely on the name “Windows Server” alone to determine application compatibility.

How to connect after delivery

Connect to Windows over RDP

Find the connection address, account name, and initial password in the machine details in the control panel after delivery following payment. Connection credentials are not displayed on this public page. Sign in with the details provided for the machine using an RDP client.

  1. 01

    Review machine details

Open the relevant machine in the control panel and check its system and connection details. Use the account name, password, and other connection parameters listed for that machine rather than relying on generic examples.

  2. 02

    Enter RDP credentials

Open an RDP client and enter the connection address and account credentials shown in the control panel. If multiple IPv4 addresses have been added, use the first address in the list for the RDP connection.

  3. 03

    Complete first-login checks

Change the initial password after the first sign-in, then check the system language, regional settings, and firewall. Before changing remote access rules, review their impact to avoid blocking routine management connections.

Configure any additional IPv4 addresses in the system or virtual machines according to the deployment plan; they do not replace the first connection address shown in the control panel. If a connection fails, submit a support ticket through the control panel with the machine details, connection method, and error message. Do not include the initial password in the email.

Match resources to application requirements

Run Windows workloads on dedicated hardware

The AMD EPYC 7543P provides 32 cores and 64 threads across the machine, with 128GB or 256GB of DDR4-3200 ECC memory. The CPU, memory, and disks are dedicated to one customer; resource allocation and application deployment are managed within the system.

Business application servers

Run business applications, backend services, and file-processing tasks that require Windows Server. Check which Windows Server years the software supports, then choose a memory tier based on resident processes, concurrent workloads, and caching needs.

Check operating system and application licenses separately; a Windows license does not cover business software.

SQL Server

Use direct-attached NVMe storage for databases and choose an ECC memory tier based on dataset and buffer requirements. Plan data files, logs, and backups around recovery objectives; two physical disks are not a substitute for a backup strategy.

Confirm SQL Server version, licensing, and application compatibility separately.

Hyper-V hosts

Allocate host resources according to each virtual machine's vCPU, memory, and disk needs, while reserving capacity for the host operating system. When running multiple virtual machines, also check the virtualization rights for the selected Windows edition.

The 256GB tier provides a larger memory budget, but virtual machine density depends on the actual workload and cannot be estimated from thread count alone.

Multi-user remote work

For remote work applications, first check software, account permissions, and session requirements, then choose memory and outbound bandwidth. Managing a machine over RDP does not mean that multi-user desktop services have been deployed.

For features such as RDS, check the required licenses and configuration separately; RDP availability in the operating system is not proof of licensing.

Memory cannot be upgraded on the same machine after provisioning. To move from 128GB to 256GB, order the corresponding machine and plan application and data migration independently.

Plan storage protection at the system level

Two directly attached NVMe drives, no hardware RAID

The standard configuration includes 2×1TB NVMe drives, each directly attached to the system. Their nominal capacities total 2TB, but they are not configured as a RAID-1 array and do not provide an automatic mirror.

Depending on system support, Windows Storage Spaces mirroring or a separately managed data protection solution may be considered. Mirroring reduces the capacity available for business data. Actual usable capacity is also lower after system and filesystem overhead, so the raw combined capacity should not be treated as mirrored usable capacity.

Redundancy and backups serve different purposes. Mirroring can help mitigate some single-drive failures, but does not replace protection against accidental deletion, database recovery, or off-site copies. Customers manage and back up the operating system and data; hardware and network infrastructure are managed by the provider.

Data protection checks before deployment

  • Check disk layout

Before installing applications, confirm that both NVMe drives are detected and decide how to arrange the system, business data, and logs.

  • Choose redundancy

Check system support and capacity requirements before using Storage Spaces mirroring. Two directly attached drives do not mean an array is already configured.

  • Keep off-site backups

Keep backup targets separate from the business machine, and verify that databases, configuration files, and critical business data are covered.

  • Test recovery

Regularly check that backups are readable and recovery steps work. Document how to reinstall business software and hand over credentials.

Configure a Windows machine and review licensing and monthly costs

Choose a memory tier, storage, bandwidth, IPv4 addresses, Windows edition, and system language. All prices are in USD, with no setup fee or contract; available payment methods are listed on the configuration page. Availability is shown in real time in the control panel.
